Bovey Castle appoints Claire Randall as new general manager

The Bovey Castle, a Devon hotel owned by the Eden Hotel Collection, has appointed Claire Randall as its new general manager.

Randall, who has over 30 years of experience in the luxury hotel industry, will begin her new role as of January 2020.

She previously spent time as managing director at five-star site Lucknam Park, near Bath, before her role as general manager of the Idle Rocks and St. Mawes Hotel in Cornwall.

Randall also held management positions at the Hyde Park Hotel in Knightsbridge and Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong. In addition to this, she worked as a Michelin Guide restaurant and hotel inspector for six years.

Mark Chambers, managing director of the Eden Hotel Collection, said: “Claire brings superb experience to the role of General Manager at Bovey Castle. We are delighted to welcome Claire on board to further enhance and shape the hotel’s future development and success.”

The five-star hotel, located in Dartmoor National Park, has won numerous awards since it was acquired by the Eden Hotel Collection in 2014. Among these were the five AA stars awarded for exceptional hospitality in 2017. 

The Bovey Castle is the flagship site for the hotel group. Set amongst 275 acres of countryside, the hotel has 60 bedrooms and 22 lodges. Its restaurant, led by head chef Mark Budd, previously won 3 AA rosettes for culinary excellence. 

The hotel also features a spa and swimming pool, jacuzzi and treatment rooms, as well as its own deer park and 18-hole championship golf course. Guests can partake in falconry, archery, cider and sloe gin-making and 4×4 off-road driving.
