Some 25 new recruits have been appointed in the run up to the Holiday Inn Express Barrow in Furness launch.
The new staff will work across various sectors of the hotel’s operations, including food and beverage, guest services, reception, finance, reservations, and the operations and commercial team.
The recruits join existing senior team members ahead of the hotel’s launch next month, and will be working under the direction of Mark Winter, general manager of the new site.
Other notable recruits include Mark Rogers as kitchen manager, who previously worked as head chef at Premier Inn, and Stephanie Andrews, who previously worked front of house in lo9cal pub chains, will act as food and beverage assistant. Robbie Gaffney has been appointed as guest service team leader, bringing four years of managerial experience to the role.
The team are to begin training ahead of the launch to “ensure the best possible customer experience for guests from opening day”.
Winter said: “Completing the recruitment of our team marks a major milestone in the works as we edge closer to that important launch date.
“We were really impressed with the calibre of hospitality talent that attended our recruitment events and I’m proud of our completed team. We can’t wait to welcome our first guests next month.”
The hotel and restaurant will be operated by RBH, the UK’s leading independent hotel management company. Ashall Projects are working as developers for the new site.
The 127-room site is situated in the heart of Furness, and lies in close proximity to the Lake District. The team hopes it will be a “perfect destination” for both business and leisure visits, respectively.
