Starhotels has appointed Thomas James Orchard as general manager of the Starhotels Collezione London Complex, comprising The Franklin, The Gore and The Pelham.
Starhotels said Orchard has achieved a “very strong professional profile” within the hospitality industry, with over 30 years of luxury hospitality experience and developing “solid expertise and competencies” in all aspects of property management.
Orchard developed his London experience through his time at The Berkeley Hotel London and COMO Hotels and Resorts, which he joined in 2000. There he began his managerial development path: starting as GM at COMO The Halkin, he then moved to lead COMO Metropolitan London until 2005.
He assumed the role of regional general manager until 2018, managing both properties and the COMO Metropolitan London Apartments.
He has most recently returned from the Caribbean where he was managing director and general manager at Carlisle Bay, Antigua.
Antonio Ducceschi, Starhotels Collezione cluster general manager said: “We are delighted to have Thomas Orchard joining the Starhotels Collezione team. He is an enthusiastic professional that brings a great wealth of experience in luxury hospitality.
“Thomas fully shares our strong company values and we are confident that he will take great care of our customers, teams and partners.”
Orchard added: “I am delighted to be joining Starhotels, the leading family owned Italian Hotel Company and look forward to assisting the development of the team and the business at the three London properties.”
