Cliveden House appoints Francisco Macedo as new GM

Cliveden House in Buckinghamshire has announced the appointment of Francisco Macedo as its new general manager.

Macedo joined the 47-bedroom hotel as operations director over a year ago, after holding the position as general manager at Bovey Castle from 2015. 

Prior to his appointment, he has been an operations manager of both Stapleford Park Country House and The Manor at Weston on the Green.

Macedo succeeds Kevin Brooke, who has been the general manager of Cliveden for three years saw the completion of L+R Hotels, the multi-million pound restoration of Cliveden House.

The completion resulted in the opening of the cliveden Spa and the hosting of Meghan Markle, on the evening of her wedding.

Cliveden House is a member of Iconic Luxury Hotels, its portfolio includes, Chewton Glen in the New Forest, Hampshire, 11 Cadogan Gardens in Chelsea, and The Lygon Arms in the Cotswolds.

Andrew Stembridge, executive director of Cliveden said: “Francisco has achieved a great deal since he joined the Cliveden Team as operations director 15 months ago, and it was therefore inevitable that he was our first choice to take on the role of general manager.”

Commenting on his appointment, Macedo added: “I am delighted and genuinely excited by the opportunities that lie ahead. 

“In addition to improving our guests’ experience, developing wellness and spa programmes, enhancing dining opportunities, and monitoring the environmental impact of our operation at Cliveden, our key focus over the next few years will be to develop and invest in our current team, to create leaders of tomorrow.”
