Liverpool’s Municipal building has received planning permission to be converted into a £35m boutique hotel.
The Grade II listed building, which is located on Dale Street, has received planning permission to be transformed into a 180-bedroom residence, that will feature a brasserie with an all-day dining menu, tea room, and cocktail bar, as well as a spa complete with pool, jacuzzi and treatment facilities.
Koncept ID will manage the design and fit-out for the project and will work alongside contractor Russell WBHO to reinstate original features.
The hotel is due for completion in late 2022.
Jenny Denton, lead designer for the development, said: “The Municipal Building is truly magnificent and the potential was clear from our very first visit. The design focuses on breathing new life into original features, restoring the building to its former glory while injecting a good dose of sophisticated elegance.”
“The new hotel will bring an exciting destination to Liverpool and with such a rich heritage, it’ll be a must-visit for locals and tourists alike.”
