Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels has added Taypark House Hotel, in Dundee, as its first associated hotel, which is set to be operated by renowned executive head chef, Glenn Roach and his business partner William Salve.

Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels will primarily support the hotel’s sales and marketing. This marks the first partnership of its kind for the group with more expected to follow.

Roach, who previously worked at a number of top restaurants including Michelin-starred Pied à Terre in London and as sous chef with Michael Caines at ABode, will run the hotel as executive head chef, as well as general manager of the Taypark.

Salve, formerly from the Rusacks Hotel in St Andrews, will be leading the front of house team. He is an award-winning manager with many industry accolades to his name. He brings with him 14 years of experience working across Macdonald Hotels, DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh City and Crowne Plaza Royal Terrace in Edinburgh.

The boutique hotel, which dates back to 1863, features 10 individually designed bedrooms.

Roach said: “William and I are incredibly excited to be leading the team here at Taypark House Hotel and working alongside Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels as its first associated hotel.

“It was the obvious next step in my career, and I believe we can learn a lot from the team at Crieff Hydro, so we are incredibly excited to see where this journey takes us. We have the opportunity to do something extra special to cement its position and reputation here in Dundee.”

He added: “The beautiful surroundings of the hotel provide much inspiration for the menu we have been working on with provenance of the ingredients we use crucial to our offering. We are looking to establish a menu of small plates encouraging families and groups to share and try new things.

“We are confident our guests will enjoy what we have in store and we look forward to meeting as many of them as possible over the coming months.”

Stephen Leckie, from Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, said: “We are delighted to welcome Taypark House Hotel as our first associated hotel with more in the pipeline. We will support Glenn and William with sales and marketing assistance for both the accommodation and the restaurant at this stunning luxury boutique hotel as he establishes himself in the new role.

“We are delighted to work with such an accomplished and well-known chef as Glenn as he goes on this adventure to make Taypark House the name on everyone’s lips for beautiful bedrooms and an exceptional dining experience. We believe Glenn. William and their team will create a warm and welcoming destination for all and ensure its longevity for another century or more.”

The group said Taypark House Hotel is set to reopen in the next few weeks – government restrictions permitting.
