The Marine Hotel, located next to the Royal Troon Golf Course in Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland, has been put up for sale by owners the Hotel Collection.

The 89-bedroom hotel is located on the edge of the 18th hole of the famous Royal Troon Golf Course, which has been the host of The Open Golf Championship on eight occasions, with the event set to return in 2016.

The hotel is the fourth hotel to be put on the market by the Hotel Collection in recent weeks, the most recent being the Cheltenham Park Hotel which has been put up for sale with a guide price of £8m.

The hotel, which has undergone a range of refurbishments in recent years, offers a range of public areas including a public lounge, a bar, an award winning restaurant, and a health and leisure club.

Julian Troup, head of UK hotels agency Colliers International, which is overseeing the sale of the hotel said: “The Marine comes with considerable heritage, a strong trading base and platform for future business growth. We anticipate considerable interest from our database of UK and International buyers.”
