The Grove – Narberth in Pembrokeshire, Wales, has been named the Pride of Britain Hotel of the Year 2015, for its “outstanding” hospitality.
The hotel, which won the award over 48 other hotels in the consortium of privately-owned independent British hotels and spas, opened in June 2008 after being fully restored by its owners, Neil Kedward and Zoe Agar.
Two pairs of mystery guests visited every property in the Pride of Britain portfolio before eventually deciding on The Grove as the winner of the award.
The restoration of the 17th century country house transformed the property into a 20-bedroom hotel with four cottages, featuring deep mattresses, cast iron baths, underfloor heating and local artwork.
The hotel has also introduced new features for 2015 including two-day yoga retreats and in-room spa treatments including Indian head massage and facial massages.
Peter Hancock, chief executive at Pride of Britain Hotels, said: “This is a tribute to the excellent hospitality offered at the renowned small hotel, as noticed by our two pairs of mystery guests who visit every member property on a rotating basis. The Grove is owned and run by Neil Kedward and his partner Zoe Agar. Congratulations to them and to their outstanding team.
“The Grove, Narberth is a fine example of our new strapline which is intended to describe the essence of what Pride of Britain stands for: ‘The Art of Great Hospitality’.”
