GLH, the London-based hotel group and subsidiary of Singapore-listed GuocoLeisure Group, has announced the launch of a new budget brand, Thistle Express.
The first Thistle Express site is expected to first launch in London in 2016, with ten further hotels opening across the next five years.
The company said that the brand will aim to offer a modern design, stylish bedrooms, friendly and efficient service, and free WiFi for all of its guests.
Mike DeNoma, CEO at GLH, said: “You can no longer divide the market into travellers who only stay in economy hotels, versus those who stick to four or five star luxury. Thistle Express is a brand that caters for the modern traveller.
“Research told us that fast, free Wi-Fi is not just a luxury for luxury hotel guests, but is an expectation for economy hotel guests too. It’s about offering guests what they want, at that moment in time, for that specific stay.”
Thistle express is the fourth brand introduced by the company, including the Amba, with the launch of Amba Hotel Charring Cross, Every hotel, with the launch of Every Hotel Piccadilly, while the Royal Horseguards hotel in London is expected to be rebranded into a Clermont hotel.
