Hotel group Old Amersham Hotels has acquired the 17th Century, grade II listed, Redesdale Arms hotel for an undisclosed fee. 

The 34-bedroom property, which was marketed at £3.75m, is located in the Gloucestershire market town of Moreton-In-Marsh and features a bar and restaurant areas. The hotel also has planning permission for three additional bedrooms.

Christie & Co, which handled the sale, said that the business was sold on behalf of its directors, who now wish to retire in a share sale transaction.

Jonathan Hill, director at Christie & Co’s Bristol office, said: “The Redesdale Arms Hotel represents an excellent acquisition for Old Amersham Hotels and we wish them every success in their new venture.”

Old Amersham Hotels acquired the property as an addition to its expanding portfolio which includes the 34-bedroom Kings Arms Hotel & Kings Chapel wedding and functions venue in Amersham, the 38-bedroom Crown Inn in Amersham and the 12-bedroom Greyhound Inn in Chalfont St Peter.
