The Valley of Rocks hotel in Lynton on the market for £1.45m

The Valley of Rocks hotel in Lynton, Devon, has been put on the market at a guide price of £1.45m.

Located in the coastal town of Lynton, on the edge of the Exmoor National Park, currently operated under the Bay Hotels banner, and is owned and managed by Shearings Holidays.

The 68-bedroom Victorian property retains many of its original details, including an atrium, and features a restaurant, lounge areas and a garden-area. Meanwhile 27 of its bedrooms also boast coastal views.

Matthew Smith, director at Christie & Co’s Exeter office, which is handling the sale, said: “The Valley of Rocks is an established, robust and profitable operation, trading well at a high occupancy.

“It benefits from a high percentage of repeat custom from guests who visit the region to take advantage of the many nearby attractions and beautiful coastline.

“We expect considerable interest from experienced coaching operators and hoteliers looking to expand their portfolios, as well as investors seeking a substantial asset in the centre of Lynton with an opportunity to change the style of operation and focus on the demand for the private leisure market.”
