Barton Grange hotel wins ‘best hotel’ at Lancashire awards

In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

The independently-owned Barton Grange hotel has scooped the ‘Hotel of the Year’ award at an annual Lancashire business awards ceremony.

Celebrating the ‘best in Lancashire’, 21 trophies were presented at the annual Downtown Business Lancashire Awards with the 51-bedroom, four-star, Barton Grange beating off competition in the hotel sector to win the award.

Daniel Rich, the hotel’s general manager, commented that the company was “thrilled” to have won the award.

He said: “The team has worked really hard all year to deliver the highest standards of Lancashire hospitality, whilst undergoing a refurbishment of guestrooms and meeting spaces.

“We have lots more hotel developments and additional refurbishment planned for later this year too, so this award is really a testament to the team’s ongoing dedication and passion for being the best Hotel in Lancashire.”

Frank McKenna, chief executive at Downtown in Business, said: ‘Congratulations to all the winners and nominees who attended the awards last night. It’s fantastic to celebrate the hard working companies in Lancashire each year and see the level of support they have for each other.”
