Future Inn signs up to Plymouth Armed Forces Corporate Covenant

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

A Plymouth hotel has become the first hotel in the city to sign up to the Plymouth Armed Forces Corporate Covenant.

The Future Inn hotel has signed up to the scheme which aims to improve employment opportunities for veterans and their families.

Joining other local businesses, the hotel has pledged to offer support to members of the Armed Forces community and recognise the contribution the armed forces – including military families – have made to businesses and the UK as a whole.

Future Inns said that it is committed to helping veterans, reservists and family members through the employment process. The hotel said that it complements its ongoing investment in people and training, in an effort to support their transition from military to civilian jobs.

General manager Janice Carpenter said: “Plymouth is a Garrison City with a proud and illustrious military history – home to the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines since 1691 and a base for half of UK’s ships and frigates.

“We are pleased to be part of this scheme and proud to be the very first hotel to sign up. As a business we feel it is important to acknowledge the bravery and sacrifice our service men and women make in order to keep us safe both home and abroad.”
