Budget hotel chain Travelodge has opened its second hotel on the Isle of Wight.
The 41-bedroom property, located in the town centre of Ryde, has been designed in the company’s new contemporary brand design and includes a new room concept originally created by Travelodge customers.
All en-suites feature eco-friendly showers, in-room toiletries including liquid soap, a flat screen TV with 18 free digital channels, free tea and coffee making facilities, and free WiFi for 30 minutes.
The hotel cost £2.2m and has created 10 new jobs.
Muhammed Manan, Travelodge’s regional director for the south of England, said: “We are thrilled to be opening Ryde’s first branded budget hotel. We have been looking for another site on the Isle of Wight for some time and are delighted to have built a hotel in such a prominent position, minutes away from the beach.
“Our new hotel will help to attract new visitors, which is great news for the local economy, as our research shows annually Travelodge customers will spend nearly £1m with local businesses during their stay.”
Travelodge, which recently announced the creation of 550 new jobs, now has a portfolio of 504 hotels in the UK.
