Georgian House hotel introduces complimentary smartphone service

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Georgian House hotel in London’s Pimlico has announced it will now offer guests the use of a complimentary smartphone for the duration of their stay.

The device – from smartphone service Handy – can be used for browsing the web, navigating London, capturing travel moments, social media, as well as offering free and unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles within the UK, USA, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Hong Kong.

The practice of offering free smartphones to hotel guests is becoming increasingly popular after the Montcalm Marble Arch became the first hotel in Europe to launch Handy earlier this year.

Adam Rowledge, general manager, said: “The Handy smartphones provide guests with the opportunity to stay in touch with work, family and friends without worrying about the huge costs that normal service providers charge.

“In-room technology is set to be one of the biggest hotel trends in 2017 and we’re delighted that our collaboration with Handy will allow us to take the hotel’s offering to the next level.”
