London has shown record-breaking revenue per available room (RevPAR) figures for April, preliminary data from benchmarking firm STR reports.
Following a record-breaking first quarter, the market registered its highest RevPAR level on record.
Hotel demand in the capital has continued to grow, and STR suggested that the In-Cosmetics Global Show and the Natural Stone Show and Conference played a part in the high occupancy.
In the days these events took place, occupancy was 95% and average daily rate (ADR) was above £160.
Room supply was up 2.8% year-on-year and demand was up 6.6%. Occupancy increased to 83%, which was a 3.7% uptick on the previous year.
ADR rose to £143.92 which was up 6.4% on 2016. RevPAR was at £119.40 which was an increase of 10.3% on last years figures.
STR will release the official results for April 2017 later this month.
