Andaz London Liverpool Street partners with (RED) to help fight AIDS

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Five-star hotel Andaz London Liverpool Street has announced a partnership with AIDS organisation ‘(RED)’ to create a custom suite that will help fight against AIDS.

The 30% of the nightly room rate of the (ANDAZ) RED Suite, which was designed by Terence Conran from Conran and Partners firm, will go to (RED) as part of a collaboration to help fight AIDS.

The architecture and interior design of the suite reflects the ‘ethos of an Andaz home’ as the room design references (RED) with a Karuselli chair upholstered in red leather. The suite also displays various portraits from British portrait and fashion photographer Rankin where the process of how (RED) funds will be used is detailed, showing mothers and children in Africa who “have thrived because of the (RED) funds from partners like the Andaz brand”.

The completion of the suite followed the hotel’s refurbishment of its 267 guestrooms, led by Conran, where he also designed a special cabinet which contains a selection of (PRODUCT) RED items available for purchase ranging from £14 to £300 through which guests can provide additional donations to the AIDS organisation.

The Andaz brand has launched several suites in collaboration with (RED) including its first (ANDAZ) RED Suite at Andaz West Hollywood in 2017, its (ANDAZ) RED Cabanas and its North American properties where breakfast promotions are used to raise funds.

Otto Steenbeek, general manager at Andaz London Liverpool Street, said: “We’re thrilled to offer the (ANDAZ) RED Suite — one we see as an experience all its own. It’s been an honour working with Sir Terence Conran to create this expertly curated space reflecting the spirit of East London, while giving our guests an opportunity to benefit the lives of others through their travels.”

Conran said: “The Great Eastern Hotel, as this hotel was once known, was my first big hotel project and a little bit of my heart is in the hotel, so it has been a dream for me to be involved with the building once again. I am proud to have collaborated with the Andaz brand and (RED) on a suite design that will give guests a great deal of pleasure while doing a great deal of good in the world.

“Through carefully curated and commissioned artwork and photography by local artists, we injected the vibrant and creative vibe of East London into the suite and mixed in contemporary hotel design with a domestic feel. The suite is a reflection of how I like to live and the lights on the ceiling are designed to represent halos for the two founders of (RED).”
