Marriott International has announced four executive appointments of Drew Pinto, Peggy Fang Roe, Tina Edmundson, Yibing Mao, and Leeny Oberg in a bid to “tap its talented leadership bench and accelerate the company’s growth”.

Pinto has been with Marriott for almost 20 years and has been promoted to the role of executive vice president and chief revenue and technology officer. He will be responsible for leading sales, revenue management, distribution channels, digital, and information technology for the brand, reporting directly to CEO Anthony Capuano. 

Meanwhile, long-time executive at the company, Fang Roe, has been appointed executive vice president and chief customer officer. She will be responsible for developing and executing key aspects of the company’s global consumer strategy, including its portfolio of brands and loyalty programs. She will also report directly to Capuano. 

Edmundson, who has over 25 years of experience in luxury brands, has been named president of luxury, which will see her manage the group’s portfolio of luxury hotel brands that include The Ritz-Carlton, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, St. Regis Hotels and Resorts, and The Luxury Collection.

In addition, Oberg will now lead Marriott’s global development organisation, which is responsible for the strategic growth of the company’s 30 lodging brands, as chief financial officer and executive vice president of development.  

The company has also announced the return of Mao, a 24-year Marriott veteran, as the newly-appointed president of Greater China. She joined the hotel operator in 1996 and has held positions of increasing responsibility during her tenure with the company and before she stepped down in 2020, when held the position of senior vice president and chief legal counsel of Asia Pacific

Anthony Capuano, president and CEO of Marriott International, said: “The size and scale of our company is significant, and we expect it to be even more so given the exciting opportunities ahead of us. 

“With the recent announcement of two executive departures, I am reshaping my team to ensure we can be nimble and effective in driving strategies to benefit our customers, associates and owners and franchisees around the world.”
