In this year’s awards, Darby’s exceptional management skills, dedication to operational improvement, and support of the wellbeing of members set her apart from the other 141 nationwide nominees.

Under her leadership, the club has become a hub of health and wellness within the community.

Devin Grosse, CEO of Focus Hotels, said: “This is a wonderful achievement for Kate and the rest of the team at Romans Health and Leisure Club. Kate is a true asset to the club, Sketchley Grange and Focus Hotels, and we are overjoyed that her incredible work has been acknowledged with this well-deserved award.”

Mark Castle, regional manager for 3D Leisure, added: “It is not often that both a manager and a club are nominated in the same year for such prestigious awards. Since starting just 18 months ago, Kate has made a significant impact at Romans, and the standards of service delivery and operational management have improved immeasurably.

“Her enthusiasm and drive to enhance her team and facility are outstanding and it is no surprise that the club has benefited greatly, with the overall performance reflecting this.”
