AccorHotels launches revised ‘diversity and inclusion’ network

AccorHotels has relaunched its international network to promote diversity and renewed its “commitment to diversity and inclusion”.

The scheme, renamed ‘RiiSE’, is active across five continents and already has more than 14,000 members globally. Its areas of focus include a mentoring programme that had men and women pair up in some 20 countries in 2018, ensuring women are “given equal opportunity for promotion to positions of responsibility” and “combatting all forms of discrimination”.

Originally created in 2012 as ‘Women at Accor Generation’, the hotel brand said it is now giving “fresh impetus to the network and highlighting that diversity is a key driver of collective performance”.

RiiSE will also strive to combat stereotypes, everyday sexism and sexual harassment, through communication campaigns, conferences and awareness-raising workshops.

Maud Bailly, chief digital officer, and John Ozinga, CEO of AccorInvest, joint ambassadors, said: “Diversity is a powerful driver of collective performance: it is important to involve men, women, and managers at the highest level to set an example. Promoting gender diversity is everyone’s duty regardless of their own gender.”
