The Buccleuch Arms, a 19th Century coaching inn near Melrose, has been brought to market for offers in the region of £1.3m for the freehold.
Having operated the business for more than 20 years, its current owner Billy Hamilton is retiring to pursue other ventures.
Located in the village of St Boswells, the Buccleuch Arms occupies a roadside position on the A68 and is within easy reach of Melrose.
The inn also comprises 19 ensuite bedrooms, a bar and bistro, private garden, boardroom, and function room.
During Hamilton’s tenure, the property has developed a strong local following and attracted business and leisure guests. It has also won the Scottish ‘Inn of the Year’ award four times.
Gary Witham, director of hotels at Christie and Co, said: “This prominent hotel is at the heart of St Boswells and has not been available on the open market for over 40 years. The business offers a great mix of rooms and stylish bar/restaurant ready for a new owner to succeed on day one.”
