Hyatt has announced the appointment of Mohammad Labban as the new general manager of the Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars hotel.

Labban, who has worked for Hyatt for more than 27 years across three continents, takes up the role after six years as general manager of Hyatt Regency Birmingham

He began his career with Hyatt in 1998 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and has held senior roles at eight of its properties in six countries in total. Labban brings extensive operational experience and a track record in developing teams and improving guest experience

Labban’s previous posts include director of sales and marketing at the pre-opening of Park Hyatt Dubai, later advancing to executive assistant manager and hotel manager at Hyatt Regency Dubai.

In 2013, he became general manager of Hyatt in Pune, India, followed by leading Hyatt Regency Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. Labban then oversaw the pre-opening and launch of Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla Resort in Jordan before moving to Birmingham.

According to Hyatt, Labban has been recognised during his career for fostering inclusive workplace cultures and innovating guest services.

Labban said: “It is a tremendous honour to join the team at Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars. This hotel is set in one of the most storied parts of the city and is perfectly placed to deliver authentic, enriching experiences to both local and international guests.

“I’m excited to continue my journey with Hyatt in such a dynamic market, and I look forward to working with our talented colleagues to further build on the hotel’s success and legacy.”
