Elite Hotels has announced the appointment of Jonathan Brown as the new general manager of Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club.

He began his career in hospitality in 1996 and his first managerial role was in 2001 at The Athenaeum Hotel in London. He also held roles at The Grove and Kinsale Hotel and Spa in Ireland, part of Macdonald Hotels and Resorts and The Lanesborough owned by Thwaites Hospitality Group.

More recently he was hotel manager at Luton Hoo, and most recently, he held the role of director of operations at the Royal Automobile Club.

In his new role as general manager at Ashdown Park Hotel, Brown will oversee all aspects of the hotel and country club’s operations.

Brown said: “It’s a privilege to be taking on the role of general manager at such a wonderful hotel as Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club. The combination of historic elegance and exceptional service, Elite Hotels reflects everything I value in hospitality – integrity, attention to detail, communication, collaboration, and respect. I look forward to building on the hotel’s excellent reputation and working alongside a passionate team to deliver the best possible guest experience”.

The hotel offers 106 individually styled bedrooms and suites, dining at the Anderida Restaurant led by head chef Andrew Wilson, and event spaces ideal for weddings and corporate retreats.

Meanwhile, the country club features an 18-hole par-3 golf course, along with an indoor swimming pool, gym, tennis courts, tranquil treatment rooms and a relaxation room.

Elite Hotels has a portfolio of three hotels including Tylney Hall Hotel, Hampshire, Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club, East Sussex, and The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne.
