Hilton has announced the appointment of John Trovato as the new general manager of The Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida.

News of the appointment comes as the property begins its transition to the Signia by Hilton brand.

Trovato will be responsible for operations across the 1,000-room resort, which features multiple restaurants, extensive meeting spaces and beachfront facilities. He will oversee the resort’s performance, standards and ongoing renovation, due to be completed in May 2026.

With more than 30 years of experience managing full-service hotels and resorts, Trovato previously served as managing director at Casa Marina, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, and The Reach Key West, Curio Collection by Hilton. At those properties he led a $100m (£76m) renovation and repositioning to the Curio Collection brand.

Hilton area vice president, John Parkinson, said: “John’s leadership philosophy centred on empowering people and cultivating a culture of accountability, collaboration and excellence make him the ideal person to guide The Diplomat through its conversion to Signia by Hilton. The resort has long been a cornerstone of South Florida’s hospitality landscape, and we’re thrilled to have John leading its next era.”

Trovato is also president of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association for Monroe County, as well as the vice president of the Florida Lodging Association.
