Focus Hotels Management has appointed Craig Jones as finance director as the group prepares for its next phase of development amid a challenging trading environment.

The qualified accountant brings more than 25 years of hospitality finance experience, having held senior roles at Whitbread, Marriott, InterContinental Hotels Group, Principal Hotels and Klarent Hospitality.

Jones has built a career as a strategic partner to owners and operators, specialising in value creation and strengthening financial controls.

He joins at a time when UK hospitality firms are dealing with national living wage rises, increased utility costs and forthcoming rates valuations.

In his new role, his priorities will include tight expense control, workforce planning and the use of group economies of scale, alongside pursuing asset-level opportunities and operational efficiencies.

Jones said: “Having started my career in hospitality operations, I understand the importance of collaboration between owners, brands, and management teams. My focus is on building trust through financial systems and transparent reporting that support commercial success.

“Ultimately, everyone in the business is here to support operations, and in turn, to support the guest. I’m genuinely excited about the journey ahead. We want to take on more properties, more projects, and continue developing as an industry leader.”

Devin Grosse, CEO of Focus Hotels Management, added: “Focus Hotels is in an exciting phase of growth, and Craig’s appointment will help us strengthen the financial foundations that underpin our future strategy.

“His experience, integrity, and enthusiasm will support our ambition to be one of the most forward-thinking hotel management companies in the UK. Attracting exceptional talent like Craig across all areas of the business is a key part of our journey – driving our vision and ensuring excellence. As we continue to build on our reputation as an industry leader, an innovative, collaborative, owner-focused approach remains at the heart of everything we do.”
