The Wesley Euston secures top sustainability accreditation

The Wesley Euston has been awarded the Eco-Smart Platinum Accreditation, the highest level of the sustainability scheme, after advancing from its previous Gold rating.

The hotel received the certification for measures that include energy and water efficiency, responsible sourcing and carbon-reduction work. The scheme assesses hotels against criteria covering resource use, procurement and building performance.

It said its environmental programme includes lowering carbon emissions and using palm-oil-free cleaning and toiletry products. It has also introduced waste-management processes and responsible-sourcing policies as part of a broader sustainability strategy.

Energy-efficient lighting, low-flow taps and a towel and linen reuse scheme have been installed. Building performance upgrades, a B energy rating and the addition of smart meters contributed to a 4% fall in electricity use between August 2023 and August 2025.

The Wesley Euston also holds Green Key and Green Tourism certifications. Its environmental work includes a Green Meeting package, which offers carbon tracking and resource-efficient functions, and hybrid meeting options to reduce travel-related emissions, along with recyclable materials for delegates.

The company’s sister hotel in Camden Town has secured Eco-Smart Gold Accreditation for the first time.
