In this episode we speak to Daniel Kyriakides, a partner at law firm Reed Smith. We discuss why private members’ clubs are experiencing a resurgence and what that means for the future of the hotel sector. From heritage buildings being reimagined as lifestyle destinations to hotels borrowing the experiential playbook of members’ clubs, we discuss how the lines between the two are becoming increasingly blurred, and why global growth is on the horizon for the private members club model.

Hotel management company Castlebridge Hospitality has appointed Craig Patterson as managing director to oversee its strategic development and operational performance.

Patterson joins the Leamington Spa-based firm from Cycas Hospitality, where he most recently served as chief development officer.

In his new role, Patterson will be responsible for executing new opportunities across the hospitality sector in close collaboration with the company’s owners, Somerston Group.

His previous experience includes senior roles at IHG Hotels and Resorts and Westmont Hospitality Group, alongside a nine-year tenure at Cycas, where he headed European footprint expansion.

Castlebridge Hospitality currently manages a portfolio of branded properties, including four Hotel Indigo sites in Coventry, Bath, Chester, and Stratford-upon-Avon, as well as the Voco Winchester Hotel and Spa and the Holiday Inn Express Campo de Gibraltar.

The group’s senior team maintains a combined industry experience of over 100 years, focusing on long-term value creation through international brand partnerships.

Craig Patterson, managing director of Castlebridge Hospitality, said: “I am delighted to have joined Castlebridge Hospitality at such an exciting stage in its evolution. Having worked extensively across hotel development, investment and operations, I look forward to building on Castlebridge’s foundations and driving the next phase of expansion.”

James Hooker, representing Somerston Group, added: “We are very pleased to welcome Craig to Castlebridge Hospitality. His track record in hotel development, portfolio growth and operational excellence makes him exceptionally well suited to lead the business.

“We are confident that his leadership will strengthen Castlebridge’s position and help deliver long-term value as we continue to invest in the hospitality sector.”
