Radisson Hotel Group has officially opened Palazzo San Gottardo Lake Como, marking the debut of its Radisson Collection brand in the Italian lakeside city.
The hotel is located between Piazza Cavour and Piazza Volta near the historic city centre. It contains 70 rooms and suites, a spa, and three dining venues.
The property occupies a building originally opened in 1926. Restoration work preserved the original stone cornices and façades while adding modern interiors and Italian furnishings.
The site includes a fine dining restaurant, Radiante, and a rooftop bar named Lumi. A second bistro, Caffè Lariano, focuses on seasonal ingredients and zero-waste cooking.
Wellness facilities at the hotel include the SPA Fontea, which features a relaxation lounge and an indoor water area. A fitness studio is also available for guests.
For business events, the hotel provides a 40-square-metre meeting space named Sala Cavour. The room accommodates 20 people and includes presentation technology and natural light.
The hotel has partnered with navigation company Tasell to provide private lake tours. A dedicated pier is located less than 100 metres from the building.
Joep Peters, chief operating officer at Radisson Hotel Group, said: “This opening marks an exciting milestone for Radisson Hotel Group as we debut in the historic and beloved destination of Como.
“Palazzo San Gottardo Lake Como, A Radisson Collection Hotel exemplifies everything the Radisson Collection brand stands for, it’s rooted in local heritage, elevated by refined design, and created for travelers seeking authentic experiences in strategic locations.”
Guglielmo Sartoni, hotel manager of Palazzo San Gottardo, added: “The hotel represents the rebirth of an iconic building in the heart of Como, carefully restored to preserve its historical heritage and reimagined for a new era of contemporary luxury hospitality.”
