In this episode we speak to Daniel Kyriakides, a partner at law firm Reed Smith. We discuss why private members’ clubs are experiencing a resurgence and what that means for the future of the hotel sector. Pellicano Hotels Group has announced the appointment of Antonella Puglisi as the new general manager of Mezzatorre Hotel and Thermal Spa in Ischia.

Puglisi joins the group from Sicilian wine estate Conte Tasca d’Almerita, where she served as general manager of Capofaro Locanda and Malvasia and director of hospitality. Her career includes more than 10 years in the luxury hospitality sector.

She previously held leadership roles at international locations including Tavanipupu Private Island Resort in the Solomon Islands and Song Saa Private Island in Cambodia. Puglisi also managed Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge in Canada.

The new general manager began her career at Ernst and Young Consulting, which later became Capgemini Consulting. She worked on international projects before moving into hospitality management with a focus on operations and guest experience.

Marie-Louise Sciò, chief executive and creative director of Pellicano Hotels Group, said: “Her international experience, operational rigor, and sensitivity to place align perfectly with the spirit of Mezzatorre – a destination where nature, heritage, and genuine hospitality come together.”

Puglisi added: “It is an honour to join Pellicano Hotels and Mezzatorre Hotel and Thermal Spa, a property with a remarkable sense of place and history. I look forward to working closely with the team to enhance the guest experience while continuing to celebrate the authenticity, elegance, and natural beauty that define Mezzatorre and Ischia.”
