IHG Hotels and Resorts has signed an agreement to bring its Vignette Collection brand to London.
The 142-room Canary Riverside Plaza, located in the Canary Wharf financial district, is scheduled to open under the new branding in summer 2026.
The property is being developed in partnership with Yianis Group and represents IHG’s first hotel in the Canary Wharf area.
The site will include a restaurant, bar, and event space for 200 guests, with access to an adjacent health club and spa.
The Vignette Collection was launched in 2021 as a luxury conversion brand, allowing independent hotels to retain their identity while accessing the group’s global distribution system.
As of March 2026, the brand has 34 open hotels and 45 in its global development pipeline.
The group stated that the signing highlights a trend towards conversions in the British market. During the first quarter of 2026, all new signings and 74% of hotel openings for IHG in the UK and Ireland were conversion projects rather than new builds.
Willemijn Geels, vice president of development for Europe at IHG, said: “We’re proud to be deepening our partnership with Yianis Group, a key contributor to the growth of our Luxury and Lifestyle portfolio in the UK&I. Building on our signing of InterContinental Manchester, together we have a shared commitment to bring distinctive hotels to key locations.”
John Christodoulou, chairman of Yianis Group, added: “The brand’s focus on individuality and character strongly aligns with our vision for the hotel, and we were particularly drawn to its ability to celebrate the unique identity of each property while benefiting from the strength of a global brand.”
