The Lake District Hotels Association has appointed Michael Coletta as its new chair.
Coletta has been managing director of Langdale Leisure since 2020. He has worked in the hospitality sector for 32 years, including 23 years specialising in timeshare management.
The appointment follows five years spent navigating local business challenges in Cumbria. He was also a non-executive director of Langdale Owners from 2007.
Coletta also spent 27 years with Hilton, culminating in his role as UK general manager for Hilton Grand Vacations.
He has a professional background in accounting and is a former trustee of the Hilton Hotels UK Pension Scheme.
Additionally, the new chair is a vice chair of the European Resort Owners Coalition, which represents timeshare owners across the UK and Europe.
The association represents some of the finest and largest independent and branded properties in Cumbria.
From North Lakes to South Lakes its members run some of the biggest hospitality businesses in the Lakes.
Coletta said: “I strongly believe that the hospitality sector, particularly in Cumbria, needs to work closely together to give the guests the best possible experience. By doing so the entire sector thrives bringing benefits to every business, employee and community.“
