Pemako Hotels has announced a full renovation of its Pemako Thimphu property, with work scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.

Design firm P49 Design is leading the interior refurbishment, which covers all guestrooms and public areas.

The renovation will include redesigned bedrooms, new bathrooms and updated furniture. Public areas, including the lobby, dining spaces and the Ara Bar, will incorporate traditional Bhutanese textile patterns and wood carvings.

The company also operates the Pemako Punakha resort, which opened in September 2023. Designed by landscape architect Bill Bensley, the site features 21 tented villas across 60 acres in the Punakha Valley.

The company said it plans to expand its portfolio with a third property in Paro, scheduled to open in 2029. Architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group is designing the new hotel.
