The new hotel, spa and health club brand will open its first property in Cornwall this autumn, with further sites planned in Surrey and the Lake District

The Elysium Collection has launched as a new hospitality brand focused on hotels, spas and health clubs across the UK.

The collection will make its debut in autumn 2026 with the opening of Elysium St Mawes in Cornwall. The 56-bedroom hotel is being developed through the refurbishment of the former Ship and Castle Hotel on the harbourfront.

Further properties are planned in Surrey and the Lake District, with additional openings expected during 2027. The brand said it will focus on operating hotels within restored historic buildings. Architectural studio 3DReid is leading the design of the Cornwall property, working with British suppliers and materials as part of the development.

Food and beverage operations across the collection will be overseen by executive chef Stephane Delourme, who previously spent more than 20 years as head chef at Rick Stein’s The Seafood Restaurant. The Cornwall site will also feature wellbeing facilities delivered in partnership with Templespa.

James Houlston, chief executive, said: "When developing The Elysium Collection, we wanted to reflect how people travel today. Guests are more time-conscious than ever, and they are seeking value not just for their money, but for their time. That became our guiding principle, to deeply understand our guests, ensuring that from the moment they arrive, everything has been thoughtfully curated, allowing them to immediately switch off, settle in, and feel they are exactly where they want to be."
