NH Hotel group has announced plans to open its first Nhow Hotel in London.

It will mark the first UK opening for the brand. The new site will be located in Shoreditch, and is said to pay “homage to both the area’s industrial past and technological future”.

The eight-floor site features 190 bedrooms, as well as three meeting rooms called the Laboratories.

It also features a restaurant that is “conceptualised as a reinvention of the British pub”.

London-based Project Orange led the interior design of the hotel. Its “bold and fresh” design takes inspiration from traditional British icons, such as the Royal Family, London landmarks and the underground.

A Big Ben sculpture resides in the lobby, alongside tables featuring cockney rhyming slang.

NH Hotels said: “Colourful textures will confront contemporary art in the rooms, creating an unforgettable version of London. Punk will meet high tech style, while graffiti will appear alongside unconventional images of past monarchs.

“Nhow is a brand that surprises and inspires its guests by offering them an unconventional experience, which is unique to each hotel’s location.”

It added: “Everything in a nhow hotel is unexpected. Iconic, inspirational and surprising. From the hall to the rooms, the lobby, the restaurants, the corridors, the meeting rooms and the creative spaces.

“The nhow experience is unique for each guest but has the ‘wow’ factor in common. Located in key urban areas undergoing a transformation, nhow hotels quickly become landmarks for self-discovery, experimentation and creativity.”

NH Hotel group is an international urban hotel operator that runs over 350 hotels across Europe and America.

Earlier this year, the NH Hotels formed an alliance with Minor Hotels in order to streamline the brands of both groups. Together, they operate some 500 sites across the world.
