Work to convert a fire-ravaged bookshop into a hotel in Fraserburgh has started following a three-month delay.
The project on Mid Street in Fraserburgh was due to begin in late March, but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It is being led by the North East Scotland Preservation Trust (NESPT) and has been backed with grant funding from the Fraserburgh 2021 Priority Grant Scheme.
The project is expected to take between 12 to 15 months to convert the bookshop into the 10-20 bedroom hotel, with VG Willox Ltd as main contractor.
NESPT chairman, Marcus Humphrey, said: “We are delighted to see this project get under way after the delay caused by lockdown. Given the current situation, it is particularly important to see a large project like this begin and to bring economic benefit to the local economy.”
