Pride of Britain Hotels welcomes two new members

The Grove and Lewtrenchard Manor hotels have been welcomed into the Pride of Britain Hotels – a consortium of 44 privately owned independent British hotels and spas.

Hotels The Grove, in Narbeth, Pembrokeshire, and Lewtrenchard Manor, located in a secluded Devonshire valley, were both unanimously voted in as members of the exclusive consortium and provide the exceptional hospitality and high standards that Pride of Britain hotels are renown for.

The welsh hotel, which overlooks the Preseli Mountains, has been painstakingly restored by the current owners, and is surrounded by 26 acres of gardens and meadows and a 17th century kitchen garden is stocked with over 70 varieties of fruit, vegetables and herbs.

Much attention has been given to the 20 guestrooms and four cottages, all with deep mattresses, quality bed linen, cast iron baths, REN bath products, underfloor heating and local artwork adding to the luxurious feel – which guests can get for £75 a night per person based on two people sharing.

Head Chef Duncan Barham specialises in locally-sourced cuisine with a French twist, serving up dishes such as Brecon Red Deer and Welsh Beef, complemented by an award-winning wine list, in the restaurant.

Lewtrenchard Manor offers a family-run, Jacobean manor house set deep in Devonshire countryside. The grounds date back to the 16th century and boast a mention of a dwelling on the land in the Domesday Book.

Head Chef John Hooker serves up delicious west-country dishes in the popular restaurant using the finest meat, seafood, local cheeses and fresh produce from the hotel’s walled vegetable garden. Local attractions include the Tarka Trail cycle route, Dartmoor and the National Trust-owned Buckland Abbey, which was home to monks in the 14th century.

Prices for a night’s stay are £77.50 per person based on two people sharing.
