In-room TV entertainment provider, Airwave, has announced the integration of its Airtime service with the Philips Android hospitality TV platform.
Airtime is a video-on-demand streaming service which offers movies and TV to the guest’s room at no extra cost to the hotel. It uses cloud-based software, eliminating the need for hardware.
The Philips Android platform offers a “faster, richer” guest interface with dedicated hospitality services and applications.
Jeroen Verhaeghe, EMEA product manager of Philips PDS: “I believe our implementation of the Android OS is a game-changer in the professional TV market.
“The extra power, convenience and flexibility it brings allows exciting partners like Airwave to offer genuinely innovative solutions to the hospitality market.”
Richard Excell, product manager of Airwave, said: “Integration of Airtime onto the Philips platform is further recognition of its integrity as a solution and we look forward to increasing its presence across the globe”.
