Institute of Hospitality London branch appoints new chairman

Monica Or FIH, founder of Star Quality Hospitality Consultancy, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Institute of Hospitality London branch, succeeding Michael M Schäfer MIH.

Before being elected Monica undertook the roles of education officer and vice-chairman. Speaking about her new role, she said: “I’m passionate about hospitality and have worked in this industry all my life, starting off in 3-star hotels in Torquay through to luxury 5-star London hotels including the Ritz, Hilton Hotels and on board the QE2 travelling the world.”

Through her consultancy, Monica works with independent bed and breakfasts, hotels and restaurants that have common hospitality issues such as managing their staff and customer service. In addition she assists aspiring hospitality managers with their career development and employability by helping them find their next position.
