Scottish hotel group, Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, has appointed Ruth Cousin as its head of revenue.
It revealed Cousin brings 15 years of revenue management experience to the role, most recently working for MAGO, part of the Manchester Airport group, overseeing car parks trading.
Prior to that she worked in Venice, Italy, where she was responsible for rooms, meetings and events at the five-star beachfront Hotel Excelsior, part of the Iconic Luxury Hotels group.
The group also said Cousin has worked with The Belfry Hotel and Resort, home of the world-famous Brabazon golf course, in Royal Sutton Coldfield.
Cousin will oversee revenue for all eight Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels’ properties, including Crieff Hydro, Murraypark Hotel in Crieff, Peebles Hydro, The Park Hotel in Peebles, Isles of Glencoe Hotel, The Ballachulish Hotel, Kingshouse Hotel in Glencoe, Taypark House in Dundee and 1881 Distillery and Gin School.
Cousin said: “I’m over the moon to have joined the Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels. I love the variety of properties in the group and I’m looking forward to exploring them all and meeting the teams. My aim is to work with the revenue team and the hotels to make sure we have the right strategies in place that work for us, and for our customers.
“I’m also going to really dive into all the ‘extras’ that we have around the resorts, from dining to activities, to see what the possibilities are. In a resort, the rooms are only part of the picture, and the variety is what makes revenue management fun.”
She added: “As we come out of the pandemic, we all know the world of hospitality has changed, and I’m a firm believer that it is for the better, so I’m excited to see what the future holds.”
Nic Oldham, head of customer and commercial at Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, said: “With such an exciting range of venues in our family – from the West Highlands to the Borders, and from our gin school and distillery to our landmark resorts – heading up our revenue function is a fantastic challenge, with no two days the same.
“Ruth is the perfect person to embrace that challenge and maximise all the opportunities that exist in our business, while helping us to continue delivering our signature outstanding customer experience. We’re thrilled to welcome her to the team.”
