Retreat East names Craig Jameson as GM

As part of his role as GM of Retreat East, he will be supporting the team in continuing to deliver ‘excellent service’ to guests and focusing on developing the food and beverage offering with newly appointed head chef, Adam Spicer

Craig Jameson has been appointed as general manager at Retreat East, the sustainable, luxury spa retreat in Suffolk.

After spending three and a half years as director of Sales and Marketing at Down Hall Hotel and Spa, on the Essex Hertfordshire border, Jameson was most recently GM at Boreham House, a luxury “Exclusive Use” weddings and events venue on the outskirts of Chelmsford.

Here he recruited and re-established the team following the Covid-19 pandemic, managed several infrastructure projects and successfully delivered over 200 large scale weddings and events.

Prior to this, he worked at a range of luxury hotels including The Royal Headguard’s, Clearmont, Charing Cross, The Town Hall Hotel in East London, as well as a range of Hilton and Radisson Blu hotels.

As part of his role as GM of Retreat East, he will be supporting the team in continuing to deliver “excellent service” to guests and focusing on developing the food and beverage offering with newly appointed head chef, Adam Spicer, whilst working with the retreat’s owner, Dominic Richards, on a range of projects as part of Retreat East’s exciting next chapter.

Jameson said: ‘’The first time I came to Retreat East I knew it was somewhere that I would love to work; the standard of accommodation, beautiful setting, and sense of place that has been created here in the Suffolk countryside really is something special! I also love the wider ethos of the business and approach of the owner, as our commitment to sustainability and supporting the local community.’’
