Dalata Group has seen its revenue increase by 9% to €220.2m (£188.98m) for the six months ended 30 June 2022, surpassing the business levels achieved in H1 2019.
The largest hotel operator in Ireland has also disclosed that its profit after tax in H1 2022 was €46.7m (£40.1m) compared to the €32.7m (£28m) in H1 2019. In addition, the group has €56.6m (£48.6m) in free cashflow in H1 2022, compared to the pre-pandemic sum of €45.2m (£38.8m).
It is also reported that the group’s RevPAR has experienced an increase of 5% on H1 2019 like-for-like levels, with the highest RevPAR increasing of 18% like-for-like being attributed to May and June of 2019.
The results come as the group has added 1,600 rooms this year to its portfolio and has opened the Maldron Hotel on Merrion Road Dublin in August, as well as the group’s 50th hotel, Clayton Hotel Glasgow City, which will be opening in October.
Dalata Hotel also currently has locations under construction in Brighton, Liverpool, London and Manchester.
Dermot Crowley, CEO of Dalata Hotel Group, said: “Over the last two years, financial stability has been a key focus for our team. I am especially happy to report that our balance sheet has significantly strengthened since the start of the year which ensures we have the capability to exploit opportunities to expand the portfolio further.
“As a company, we have taken a responsible approach to pricing during the strong market recovery. We greatly value the long term relationships with our coach tour operators, corporate customers, sporting organisations, event organisers and airlines.”
He added: “I am personally delighted with the progress we have made since the start of 2022. The achievements are the result of the expertise and commitment of the teams that operate throughout Dalata. I want to personally thank the entire team of people within Dalata for delivering six additional hotels and an excellent trading recovery.”
