Fairmont St Andrews has announced the appointment of Kai Winkler as the property’s general manager.
Winkler will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operational functions at the hotel, including providing strategic guidance to achieve Fairmont’s vision and implementing
organisational processes for all divisions.
He joined Fairmont in 2016 as the general manager of Fairmont Quasar, Istanbul and led
the team in establishing a flagship Fairmont property. He then moved onto leadership roles at Fairmont The Palm, Dubai and the Fairmont Golden Prague where he oversaw the start of a €100m (£87m) renovation project which will culminate in the hotel’s opening in 2024.
Fairmont St Andrews is a 520-acre luxury hotel with two championship golf courses, as well as an “extensive” spa and wellness offering, family activities, and dining options.
Winkler said: “I am thrilled and honoured to be joining this internationally iconic country estate as we embark on a new chapter for this much-loved Scottish resort hotel. I am looking forward to leading a diverse team to continue Fairmont St Andrews’ reign as one of
the finest country retreats and further enhance the guest experience by creating unforgettable moments through unparalleled luxury and service.”
