The Millcroft hotel, situated on the North Coast 500 circular route around the north coast of Scotland, has been brought to market for offers over £700,000, including fixtures and fittings.
The Millcroft, at Strath, Gairloch, occupies an elevated, central position within the village of Gairloch on the west coast of Scotland. The village offers a “wealth” of natural arenas and activities for visitors.
The Millcroft is described as a busy hotel which provides a good level of year-round trade. Located to its rear is Gairloch holiday park which provides additional income to the restaurant and bar from April to October.
The guest profile is largely derived from leisure and tourism with a “significant” proportion of guests coming from mainland Europe via a number of on-line booking agent sites.
Gairloch forms part of the North Coast 500, a 516-mile circular route around the north coast of Scotland, which has increased in popularity since it was launched in 2015. The route draws thousands of tourists a year past The Millcroft, with the town widely regarded as one of the main overnight stops on the route.
The Millcroft is a detached traditional hotel which was extended to the rear in the eighties. It features 12 individually styled en-suite letting rooms as well as owner and manager accommodation. It also features a lounge bar and restaurant which can accommodate approximately 36 covers, with both dining areas combined accommodating up to 40 covers.
The bedrooms, arranged over ground, first and attic floors, are accessed via an internal staircase, while two of the suites have private external access. There are six en-suite letting rooms, four two-bedroom suites and two self-catering units. All have Wi-Fi, writing desk, television and tea and coffee making facilities.
The site is being marketed by DM Hall, one of Scotland’s largest independent firms of chartered surveyors.
Margaret Mitchell of DM Hall, who is overseeing the marketing process, said: “this is a great opportunity to acquire a successful, busy and easily managed tourist hotel with an established reputation and the potential to increase the number of rooms by reconfiguration of staff rooms and redevelopment of disused storage areas.”
