The hotel giant said brand responsibilities will be divided between Leighton who will add leadership of the Luxury Brands to her existing Communications remit and Watson, who will lead the Premium and Select Brands alongside his existing Digital and Marketing scope.
In these expanded roles, Leighton and Watson will be responsible for the enhancement of Marriott International’s Luxury and Premium and Select brands in EMEA respectively, alongside their Brand teams.
Marriot revealed this will include brand strategy and execution, marketing and activation, standards and performance as well as driving awareness in key source markets while supporting the Development team with the continued growth of the Marriott International hotel portfolio across the EMEA Continent.
Neal Jones, chief Sales and Marketing officer, EMEA, said: “I am delighted that Helen and Andrew are taking on these additional leadership responsibilities. At Marriott International, we are focused on investing in associates and developing talent across the organisation, and these appointments underpin this commitment.
“Both Andrew and Helen have extensive experience in their fields, and will be brilliant leaders for our extraordinary portfolio of 31 brands. On behalf of the entire company, we wish them both the very best in their new roles.”
