In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Warner Hotels has announced that its newest hotel on the banks of the River Thames, The Runnymede on Thames Hotel, will be officially opening in autumn 2024.

Located in Egham, Surrey, the hotel is currently undergoing a complete renovation after being purchased by Warner Hotels in March 2022 – making it the 16th hotel in its portfolio.

The Runnymede on Thames will be the first Warner Hotels property located in Greater London, and the first set on a river.

With 205 rooms, which will be decorated with “characterful artwork that reflects the historical nature and natural beauty of the surrounding area”, the hotel will also benefit from a riverside lounge, a choice of two restaurants, terraces, and a brand-new Live Lounge for live entertainment.

In addition, The Runnymede will feature a spa, gym, studio room for fitness classes, a relaxation lounge, and an extended wellness programme.

Between the months of May to September, the hotel will also have an outdoor pool with sun loungers open to guests.

The hotel is surrounded by historical sites, such as Windsor Castle and Frogmore House, Kew Gardens, Hampton Court Palace, and Ascot Racecourse.

Tony Roberts, chief commercial officer at Warner Hotels, said: “We’re delighted to be launching sales for The Runnymede on Thames this November. We’re certain our newest hotel will prove popular, and we can’t wait for guests to enjoy the beauty that its riverside location offers.

“With a Warner break, we know our guests expect everything they could wish for to enjoy grown up ways to have fun – from activities to top-class entertainment, guests are free to choose how they spend their day. With this in mind, we are curating our latest property to ensure there is something for every kind of staycationer.”
