Hammersmith and Fulham Council planning officers are pending the approval of K West Hotel in Shepherd’s Bush to undergo a £45m renovation project.
The planning proposal outlined the hotel’s internal and external refurbishment to provide 231 bedrooms and associated front of house and back of house accommodation, including the replacement of all existing uPVC windows with new fixed glazed PPC aluminium framed windows that incorporate ventilation louvres.
In addition, the refurbishment project aims to upgrade the garden areas to the south, including provision of direct access from ground level accommodation and spa and gym facilities.
K West Hotel also intends to undergo general soft landscaping maintenance and improvements in existing planted areas, as well as install planters along Richmond Way street’s edge.
According to the hotel website’s front page, K West Hotel is currently closed until mid-2025 for the renovation project.
The notice reads: “We’re completely transforming this famous Shepherd’s Bush landmark, once home to the iconic BBC Kensington House studios where legends such as David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley once recorded, into one of London’s most exciting new lifestyle hotels.”
The hotel will reportedly reopen as a 252-room site.
