In this episode we speak to Nico Tréguer, co-founder of Roberts and Treguer and The Culpeper Family. Nico spoke about founding the group alongside his longtime friend Gareth, having had a vision for bringing more nature spaces to cities, the planned extension of The Buxton in Spitalfields, and how the site’s storytelling engages guests and the local community, how the Culpeper Family’s core sustainability ethos helped it secure its B-Corp status and why hospitality has a responsibility to educate and innovate when it comes to sustainability.

Cycas Hospitality has been appointed to manage the UK’s first Fairfield by Marriott hotel, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio of over 30 hotel brands.

The 142-room new-build property is set to open in early 2026, and brings Marriott’s midscale hotel brand, characterised by the Marriott family farm heritage, in a first for the brand’s expansion into the UK.

Positioned within the British Motor Museum complex just off the M40, the new Fairfield by Marriott hotel will offer guests access to the museum’s exhibits and attractions, alongside conference, wedding and event facilities for up to 600 delegates.

Immediate neighbours of the proposed hotel will also include Jaguar Land Rover’s global research and development centre and Aston Martin’s world headquarters, making this area of south Warwickshire a powerhouse of the UK’s automotive industry.

The British Motor Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of historic British cars, has long been revered as a hub of automotive heritage and innovation. Now, with the addition of a new hotel, visitors will have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the experience of exploring the museum’s extensive collection.

In addition to the museum’s exhibits, the site complex enjoys a rooftop Sky Suite and 65 acres of surrounding grounds, providing opportunities for meetings, events and corporate team-building experiences.

In addition to complimentary Wi-Fi and a hot breakfast, the rooms and suites provide guests with separate living, working and sleeping areas. The guest rooms will feature an ergonomic workstation, a couch, refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave.

The hotel’s public area will serve as a flexible social space to share and connect with other travellers, or to relax, and the 24/7 Corner Market means guests can grab and go.

Matt Luscombe, CEO of Cycas Hospitality, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for Cycas to showcase our expertise in managing unique and culturally significant properties. We look forward to providing exceptional service and enhancing the overall guest experience at the British Motor Museum. We are delighted to be bringing a new hospitality offering to this renowned destination.”

Jeff Coope, managing director at the British Motor Museum, added: “The whole team here at the British Motor Museum are delighted to welcome Cycas, Marriott and WHD to the venue, working together to create a unique hotel experience for visitors and conference delegates alike.

“The museum, which attracts over 200,000 UK and overseas guests each year, contains more than 500 vehicles representing the history of the motor industry in Britain. Many of the vehicles in the collection are the first of their type, ‘number one’ as they say in the automotive world, so it is such a wonderful opportunity for the venue to continue this theme of ‘firsts’ with the UK’s ‘Number One’ Fairfield by Marriott hotel.”
