Grantley Hall, a Grade II listed luxury hotel, wellness retreat and event venue in Ripon, Yorkshire, has appointed a new banqueting team, including banqueting head chef, Ben Moore.

Working alongside Moore is Chris Lewis, Grantley Hall’s new Events and Banqueting manager.

With a wealth of experience and an impressive portfolio, Moore supports Grantley Hall’s key focus to oversee an expanded kitchen team, create menus and find new ways of working to cement its growing reputation as one of Europe’s “finest” luxury wedding and event venues.

Moore has a background of working within Michelin star kitchens, including the Star Inn at Harome and Mayfair’s La Gavroche under Michel Roux Jr.

He also has experience working as a consultant for esteemed restaurants and hotels, specialising in menu development, kitchen design and project management. Catering for Ellie Goulding’s wedding at Castle Howard in 2019 is a further career highlight for Moore.

Meanwhile, Lewis is an events professional. He also has an extensive career working with other five-star hotels.

With Grantley Hall’s new Autumn banqueting menu developed, guests will be served starters including salt-baked artichoke, duck and goose liver terrine, herb-crusted poached trout with pink grapefruit and seared scallops with fresh apple and caviar.

Whilst main dishes include cannon of red deer venison, citrus-roasted halibut loin, honey-roasted Gressingham duck breast and maple-roasted banana shallot.

Grantley Hall offers 47 bedrooms, five restaurants, and three bars. It also boasts seven event spaces, including The Grantley Suite, the champagne and cocktail bar, Valeria’s and an alfresco option within The Orchard.

With 38 acres of Yorkshire gardens, including an English Heritage Japanese Garden, formal gardens and stepping stones, there is also ample space for large marquee events.

With a 28% growth in their events business in the last financial year, Grantley Hall stated that it is set to achieve similar growth this year.

Moore said: “I am absolutely delighted to join the exceptional team at Grantley Hall. Together, we will create unforgettable culinary experiences, blending innovation with the rich traditions that make this place so special.”
