KOP Limited has appointed Dalip Singh as CEO of its hospitality arm, Montigo Resorts as it looks to continue its international expansion.

Singh brings his extensive experience in global hospitality to lead the brand’s strategic growth, where he will be charged with overseeing new hotels Ellen Kensington and Montigo Resorts, Somerset at Charlton House, as well as flagship properties in Indonesia.

Singh’s first major project as CEO will be overseeing the launch of 105-key Ellen Kensington, which is managed and operated by Montigo Resorts and is KOP’s first urban hotel. The opening of Ellen Kensington marks a significant milestone in the growth strategy of Montigo Resorts as it looks to expand with more city hotels in the UK and Ireland. Situated in the heart of London’s iconic Kensington district, Ellen Kensington is currently in soft-opening with its restaurant The Lacquer Room slated to open in mid-November.

Ellen Kensington is inspired by the “elegance and charm” of the Victorian era’s leading lady, Dame Ellen Terry. The hotel comprises of guestrooms and suites set across five interconnected Victorian period townhouses, overlooking the historic Barkston Gardens.

Singh will also oversee Montigo Resorts, Somerset at Charlton House, a Grade II-listed, 28-bedroom English country house and thermal spa that opened in 2023 in the heart of Somerset.

The two Indonesian properties will also come under Singh’s leadership. Flagship Montigo Resorts, Nongsa is a panoramic beachfront resort in Batam, Indonesia and Montigo Resorts, Seminyak, a contemporary retreat in Bali that combines expansive suites with dining and wellness experiences.

Singh was one of the founding members of Montigo Resorts and was an “integral part” of KOP Limited for five years from 2011 – 2016. To the role of CEO Singh brings over 25 years of experience in luxury hotel management. His career highlights include leadership roles with prestigious brands like Pan Pacific, The Ritz-Carlton, Dusit International, Shangri-la and Hyatt.

With Singh at the helm of its hospitality arm, KOP said it aims to expand Montigo Resorts’ footprint to other markets within the next 10 years.

Ms Ong Chih Ching KOP Limited executive chairman and executive director, said: “Dalip Singh’s leadership style aligns perfectly with Montigo Resorts’ commitment to innovation and excellence. His extensive background in hospitality and proven track record in transforming properties into market leaders make him the ideal person to lead our global expansion efforts.”

Singh added: “I am excited to return to KOP Ltd as CEO of Montigo Resorts. This is not just a homecoming, but an incredible opportunity to lead a brand I have always believed in. Our goal is to blend Montigo Resorts’ unique brand of Asian hospitality with the demands of the dynamic and evolving travel consumers. The opening of Ellen Kensington is just the beginning of our ambitious plans to expand the brands’ footprint to other markets within the next 10 years.

“Our aim is to create memorable, sustainable, and innovative luxury experiences from unforgettable escapes to special events and festivals while offering exclusive, benefits and more, that will resonate with guests worldwide. I look forward to working with our talented teams to bring these visions to life.”
