Hotel Concept of the Month: The Rutland Hotel

The Rutland Hotel has invited guests for a five-star stay with the announcement of four new luxury serviced apartments, situated in its Number 17 Rutland Street townhouse in Edinburgh’s busy West End. The hotel’s inspirations behind the apartments were to create unique, luxury spaces with “no expense spared”, continuing in line with the main property. After being provided with a full brief from the hotel team, Edinburgh-based design company Jeffrey’s Interiors set about designing four individually-styled apartments. From the Farrow & Ball wallpaper, to vintage furniture from luxury design company Ralph Lauren, the hotel said every room exudes “style, sophistication and individuality”. The apartments are described as “quirky and contemporary” and aim to feel like a very stylish home-away-from-home, with all the amenities a guest could possibly need right at their fingertips. The apartments - of which there is two two-bedroom apartments and two one-bedroom apartments - cater for families, couples and corporate clients alike. The ‘Garden Apartment’ is the property’s largest apartment with its own conservatory and garden. It features two double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a spacious open-plan kitchen and living area. The one-bedroom apartments are spacious and light with high ceilings and full-length windows. They feature king-size beds and en suites with deep stylish baths and rainfall showers. Meanwhile, 17 Rutland Street’s fourth apartment sits on the top of the property and is described as “cosy and contemporary”. It features two bedrooms and a spacious open-plan kitchen and living area. The whole property can also be combined for exclusive-use bookings. Steven Simpson, general manager of the hotel, said, “We are really excited to have opened and added four more apartments to our portfolio. The design within Number 17 really has the wow factor and we are eager to show them to the world." The apartments, which were previously operating as a fully-functioning office space when acquired by the hotel in 2012, join the success of the hotel’s existing serviced apartment ventures - Number 19 and Number 15 Rutland Street.
